Unmanaged and Managed Industrial Ethernet Switches for Every Application:
Ethernet/IP stands for "Ethernet Industrial Protocol." It is an open industrial networking standard that takes advantage of commercial, off-the-shelf Ethernet communication chips and physical media. EtherNet/IP technology has evolved due to the high demand for Ethernet control applications. This standard also stems from the control industries' need for interoperability among various Ethernet control products.
Ethernet/IP is an open network because it uses standard Ethernet IEEE 802.3, TCP/IP protocol suite, and CIP (Common Industrial Protocol), the real-time I/O and information protocol that DeviceNet and ControlNet networks use.
For small Ethernet networks, Weed Instrument offers the EOTec 2000 series of unmanaged Ethernet switched media converters and unmanaged switches. For networks that require ring redundancy, we offer the economical the EOTec 2104 Ethernet Ring Switch. For more complex networks we provide the Lynx light to fully managed series of switches, and the R200 and T200 fully managed Ethernet switches.

EOTec 2104 Industrial Ethernet Ring Switch
The new EOTec 2104 Industrial Ethernet Ring Switch is designed to fill the gap between unmanaged and managed Ethernet switches. Available in five different models, the EOTec 2104 features the ease of use of a typical unmanaged switch plus advanced capabilities that are only found in a managed switch, including ring functionality.
When connected in a ring topology, an EOTec 2104 increases network reliability by providing an alternative path for message flow in the event of a network segment failure. When it detects a communications break, it quickly notifies the other switches in the ring and messages are automatically rerouted through the alternative ring path within milliseconds
Features:
- Ethernet compliancy IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x, 802.3z, 802.1p and more
- Supports Traffic Prioritization IEEE 802.1p, Q0S, CoS, ToS for real time data transfer
- Port mirroring for mapping messages between ports
- Message rate filtering (broadcast storm protection) to prevent network downtime
- Local and remote alarm diagnostics
- Auto-negotiate 10 or 100 Mbps
- Removable, pluggable terminal strips
- Non-Blocking, Full Wire Speed Transmission
- Software configurable

EOTec 2000 Industrial Ethernet Unmanaged Switches and Media Converters
The EOTec 2000 unmanaged switches and media converters are industrially hardened DIN-rail mountable devices that enable you to extend your industrial Ethernet network. An integrated backplane allows for easy cascading of two devices together to create an Ethernet "trunk line" over fiber. By cascading two media converters together you can create a 4-Port switched media converter (2-fiber, 2-RJ45), or achieve multi-mode to single mode conversion. Multiple other combinations are also possible.
Features:
- Compact DIN-Rail enclosure
- FM approved for Class 1, Div 2 Hazardous locations (selected models)
- Industrial Operating Temperature Range (-40 to 85°C)
- M modules can be cascaded together
- LED Diagnostic Indicators
- Redundant, flexible power supply options for 24VDC and 120/240VAC power source

Lynx Series Light to Fully Managed Industrial Ethernet Switches
The Lynx series of managed switches have been designed for complex networks in harsh environmental conditions. Typical applications include intelligent transport systems, railway signal systems, substation automation, wind turbines and military & merchant marine installations. The Lynx series starts with the L100/L1100 light managed Ethernet switches and reaches up through L300/L1300 standard managed switches with ring redundancy, all the way to full switch management in the L400/L1400.
Features:
- Three levels of Management (light to fully managed)
- Industry-specific approvals for Marine, Rail, Substation Automation
- FRNT (Fast Re-configuration of Network Topology)
- Switch Management via Free IP Config tool or SNMP
- Auto MDI/MDI-X technology
- User configurable fault contact
- High Optical Dynamic Range for distances of 2, 15, 40, 85 and 120 km.
- Removable fiber transceivers
- GbE Support on fiber ports (new)

U/R/T200 Series of High-Performance Industrial Ethernet Switches
The U/R/T200 Series provide real time and redundant ring support and time services. The switches contain 8 ports that can be configured in any combination of 10/100 Mbps twisted pair ports (10/100BASE-TX) and 100 Mbps fiber optical ports (100BASE-FX), and are approved for industrial and commercial use.
Features:
- Real time Ethernet
- Excellent MTBF
- 35 mm DIN rail, 19” inch rack or wall mounting options

The R200W Series managed Industrial Ethernet switches use FRNT (Fast Re-configuring Network Topology), a unique way of making fast recovery redundant ring networks. Recovery time is the fastest in the market at only 30 milliseconds. Several redundant rings can be connected with redundant bridges creating full link redundancy throughout the whole industrial application. Switches can also work with Spanning Tree Protocol and Rapid Spanning Tree. IGMP snooping, SNMP and port based VLAN is delivered as standard user configurable features. Network management is made easy by the free IPConfig tool.
Features:
- Real time Ethernet
- FRNT- Redundant Ring topologies with 30mS ring Recovery
- Multiple Redundant Rings
- IGMP snooping
- VLAN
- SNMP
- DHCP
- IP gateway support
- True industrial specification
- High MTBF numbers
- 35 mm DIN rail, 19” inch rack or wall mounting options

The T200W Series time synchronization switch features an incorporated timeserver in the Ethernet switch. Accuracy down to 1 microsecond can be obtained in real-time automation projects. Both NTP/SNTP (RFC1305/RFC2030) and IEEE1588 protocol are supported (IEEE1588 Grand Master, Transparency). A GPS receiver can be connected for absolute time reference.
Features:
- Fully managed for real time Ethernet
- Time synchronization support using NTP/SNTP or IEEE P1588
- Integrated time server with 0.5 PPM accuracy
- Provides high accuracy SoE (Sequence of Events) time stamping
- High power switching core ensure full-wire speed
- Two priority queues with Layer 2 Priority (tagging) and Layer 3 Priority (QoS - Quality of Service)
